Hi Friends,
It's a new year and time for resolutions, if you've made the same resolution several years running or you have never really been able to keep one I have a suggestion for you. Instead of making a resolution to lose twenty pounds and give up fast food, or to stop smoking and no longer allow others to influence you negatively, I suggest we simply resolve to be the best person we can be for the next year and the rest of our lives. If I'm being the best me that I can be I will naturally make good decisions about food and exercise, I can only be the best me if I make my physical and mental health a priority. When I'm operating at my best I'm above rumor and influence and I always treat others with respect and dignity because that's how I demand to be treated. I like to write a reminder of this on something i look at daily, my phone, laptop, calender, etc. when I see it and I'm straying from the proper mindset it reminds me to relax and focus on being the best me. When we focus on being the best person we can be everything else falls in line because it has to, so forget the twenty pounds or the rumor mill, simply resolve to be a better person mentally and physically.

Focus
There are lots of things trying to influence us to buy as much as we can this time of year, but for most of us in this economy that's really not prudent. It's important we stay level headed and focused in times of stress, I know Johnny really wants that Xbox with the Kinects system but will life really suffer if he only gets a Wii? Stress like this can cause us to lose focus and look to comforts like sweets and high GI carbohydrates, or over indulgence in alcohol which leads to low inhibition and more sweets and carbs. I have a few suggestions that may help; Meditation, it may seem gimmicky or weird but it can really help you calm down and achieve comfort. When you feel stressed try sitting in a comfortable position in a quiet place close your eyes rest your hands on your lap and concentrate or your breathing at a slow, steady, and calm rate. Think of your breath pushing and pulling the needle on a very slow metranone. The object is to eventually empty your mind and think of nothing, yes silencing your mind is very difficult but the practice can be a great help for stress and even general mental health. Start by practicing for 2-3 minutes try to get up to 10-20 minute sessions. Exercise can also be a great stress reliever, if time is short try stretching for 5 minutes then do 20 burpees followed by 20 push ups then 20 crunches or leg lifts. That little bit of exercise is enough to change your focus get your heart rate up expend some of that pent up energy that comes from frustration.

You are what you eat and do.....just look in the mirror
You are what you eat, it's astoundingly true. When I ate junk food and spent all my free time sedentary I looked and felt horrible. Gradual changes to my diet and level of activity have made a dramatic difference. The more I trained the easier it was to rectify the problems with my diet, and the better I ate the better I felt, making it easier to go and train. Just as eating bad and sedation can become habit so too can a healthy diet and being active, but only easier because we actually desire the positive effects. Just like learning to walk as an infant the first step is the hardest, but you've already taken that first step you are reading this, now pick up the phone or click the link to the website and let us help you achieve all your fitness goals.

many coaches mistakenly believe that lengthy aerobic sessions are needed. Their athletes compete in specific weight classes and aerobic exercise is often considered ideal for fat loss.even non fighters typically resort to aerobic session.
